Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with your partner or best girlfriends, lets embrace the greatest love of all, self-love. Below I’ve outlined the areas of our body that are typically neglected and how to pamper them.
STEP 1
Keeping your lips hydrated and supple is key during the cold months and Valentine’s Day is not the day to neglect them. Start by exfoliating your lips with your favorite lips scrub or even a toothbrush (Fresh has a liquid lip exfoliator that works wonders), then apply a good lip mask to lock in the moisture and keep your lips smooth all day long.
STEP 2
Now it’s on to the body oddy oddy oddy (sorry!). I’m usually in the shower for 20 minutes on a regular day but on special occasion like Valentine’s Day I can be in the shower up to 40 minutes. To some people that amount of time may seem excessive but I like to make sure that no stone is left unturned in getting my skin super smooth. I start with a body wash that has a silky texture to get me in the right frame of mind. After shaving, I go in with body scrub
STEP 3
The final areas of focus are the feet, elbows and hands. Getting these areas ready for a day of pampering starts with what? You guessed it exfoliation! The best foot exfoliation for the feet is to use a peel. Foot peels leave your feet as soft and smooth as the day you existed your mother’s womb. My favorite is by Bosica but the most popular is Babyfoot. To get your feet baby smooth by Valentine’s Day you must start the process at least 2 weeks before because your feet will shed for a few days.
For your elbows and hands, you can use the same body scrub to sloth off the layer of dead skin followed by an exfoliating serum then lock it all in with your favorite body butter.
There you have it, the key things I do to go the extra mile in my pamper routine for Valentine’s Day any other time when I need some extra TLC. Let me know in the comments what are some of your pamper rituals.
Until time!
